Veritas is the Latin word for Truth
Our name is a statement of our commitment to staying true to our values. True to our passion for local products. True to our belief that we should be environmental stewards and responsible community members. To remain true to these ideals we create wines that reflect the beauty of our unique growing environment along the shores of Lake Michigan. Our minimal intervention winemaking practices allow the flavors of the diverse grape varieties we use to shine through. From unusual varieties such as Gewurztraminer, Blaufrankisch, and Tannat to well known grapes such as Pinot Gris and Riesling we make wines that highlight each one without the addition of extra sweetness or alcohol. We purchase our grapes from small local growers that meet our sustainability and quality standards. We also compost winery waste and our working towards using solar and wind to power our small winery.

We connected over wine & food, then we fell in love, finally we combined our passion and skills to create Veritas Estate Winery and our on-site Bed & Breakfast, Vintage Inn at Veritas Estate.

Winemaker & OwnerDr. Seston has a PhD in Environmental Microbiology. She applies her scientific knowledge of fermentation and the environment to craft precise wines from local grape growers. Chef & OwnerChef Tim brings his expertise and experience from over 35 years in the culinary arts to both Veritas Estate Winery and the Vintage Inn at Veritas Estate. He creates amazing food pairings and breakfasts everyday at the Inn.
